After about a year of working on another project I have decided to do a little CG again. I partly stopped because I’m so hopeless at it and it was frustrating me a lot, but perhaps I can cope with that for a while longer. This dark scene probably reflects my mood.
Partly to get inspired I started yet another course on Udemy on Environment Design, this one by Siobhan Twomey. She proposed the interesting idea that , just as in a story, an image needs conflict to make it interesting, and the rule of thirds is really about a conflict between two apparently unequal sections of the image. So I’ve tried to incorporates some contrast at least in this image, between the geometric stone structure and the organic forest.
