I’m quite happy with how this turned out. I’ve used thermal erosion instead of fluvial erosion, and this creates a talus (pile of rocks/soil) at the base. The rock material I’m using here has worked pretty well too. The heightmap is a 4k OpenEXR so it captures lots of nice detail.
I’ve finished Vladimir’s basic course on WM, time to move on to some projects. I did actually learn a few things in the course – the more I know the easier it is to pick up new stuff. Maybe in a month or two I’ll be pretty comfortable with WM. I might even have terrain materials sorted too.
