Did some sculpting, baked a normal map. I changed from my laptop to my Linux desktop because the sculpting seemed a bit quicker, but reality is that with a textured brush in anchored mode both are too slow. If I keep at this I might be looking for a new computer.
Baking the normal map was a total PITA. Turns out the problem probably was that my high poly meshes were in the render and obscuring part of the low poly mesh. Rendering an object used to be easy to disable – just click the camera in the outliner. Now there’s an eye to control viewport visibility but you have to go a couple of context menus deep to disable rendering. Did I say total PITA?
